Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Permian rhyolitic ignimbrite has been exploited in several quarries near Tatobit. The ignimbrite represents deposit of pyroclastic flow(s) from violent volcanic eruption. The volcano was probably located in the Mnichovo Hradiště Basin. The ignibrite is pink to red in colour and wethears out in pale-ocre tones. Quartz crystals and pumice fragments can be identified surrounded by the groundmass.
