Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Kutná Hora Crystalline. Outcrops along Vrchlice River. A body of serpentinized peridotite embedded in form of tectonic boudin in light muscovite and two mica migmatized gneisses. Peridotite contains minerals of serpentine group together with olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and ilmenite. Garnet is also commomn accessory, it contains Mg and so it is of pyrope composition.
