Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Kutná Hora Crystalline. Abandoned quarry, only upper parts of quarry levels are visible. Migmatized gneiss was quarried and used for different building purposes. Example of Cretaceous transgression. Sediments of Korycany Beds overly gneiss bedrock. In migmatized gneisses rare and interesting minerals occur, mambers of so called Alpine paragenesis. Cretaceous sediments are fossiliferous.
