Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Carpathians, Magura Group of nappes. Nature Monument. In a quarry sedimentary sequence is exposed belonging to the Luhačovice Formation (Middle Eocene) and corresponding to the proximal flysch depositional mechanism. Sediments consist of pebbly sandstones up to sandy conglomerates with common carbonate admixture. Many erosional phenomena occur, as washouts and rills. Special types of weathering, e.g. spheroidal weathering, are visible.
