Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moravosilesian Palaeozoic, Moravian Karst. Old abandoned quarry and adjacent outcrops. Two geological units crop out there, Lower Devonian multicoloured sandstones and conglomerates and overlying Devonian limestones of the Macocha Formation. Limestones are fossiliferous. The two units are locally covered by loess. Nature reserve protecting also mixed vegetation typical for rocky steppe. Type locality of stratigraphic "stachyode horizon".
