Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Carpathian Foredeep, Neogene. Old abandoned sand pit. Exposed sands are medium- up to coarse-grained with characteristic structure of agitated shallow water depositional environment. Erosional depressions are filled by silts and clays. This locality represents a holostratotype of the Lower Badenian.
