Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Krkonoše-Jizera crystalline. Nature reserve. The basement consists of phyllitic greywackes and phyllites of the Ještěd crystalline. The rocks are possibly of Ordovician age. The river Lužická Nisa modelled a valley with enclosed meanders which encircle rocky spur with a castle ruin. Quaternary sediments cover adjacent steep slopes.
