Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Barrandian, Precambrian J9lové Zone. Steep rocky slopes overelooking Vltava River meander. Precambrian volcanics consisting of great variety of andesites passing into acidic rhyodacite volcanics and their tuffs and some tonalite intrusions. Nearby, one of the greatest gold deposits in the Central Europe was found. It was surveyed in detail, but its exploitation is not possible from ecological and social reasons. Surveying brought about extremely interesting results, but is not finished yet.
