Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Quarries at elevation Kuchyňka near Brázdim. They were opened in Proterozoic lydites overlain by relics of the so-called littoral facies of the Cretaceous sea. These sediments feature boulder-sized conglomerates with clay, sand and lime matrix, ranked to the Korycany Member and Bílá hora Formation of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Rich finds of marine fauna were reported by previous authors. An important paleontological and archeological site.
