Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The Bohemian Cretaceous Basin - Quaternary. Early Pleistocene fluviual deposits of the Jizera River. They consist mostly of gravel with sand interlayers. Strongly weathered, sands locally limonitized. Fluvial deposits are underlain by Cretaceous calcareous claystones (Middle - Upper Turonian). Interesting and rare flora. Numerous springs along boundary between Cretaceous and Pleistocene deposits.
