Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The Bohemian Cretaceous Basin - Tertiary volcanics. Two volcanic chimneys of olivinic nephelinite and chimney breccia, uncovered by erosion of Cretaceous deposits, mainly marlstones. Volcanic massif is cut by numerous fractures and affected by old quarrying. Volcanic rocks exhibit interesting structures, such as columnar jointing and brecciation. Some mineral species were found on the contact of nephelinite and marlstone.
