Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The active sandpit with Tertiary gravels and sands. The gravel sequence consists of several individual layers with oblique and channel bedding, possibly deposited from braided river flows. Its clasts consist of quartz, Neoproterozoic silicites and also of volcanics of the Křivoklát-Rokycany Zone. The sand is of variable grain size, in some layers with clay content and with relics of Tertiary flora. This locality belongs to the Permocarboniferous and Tertiary of the Central and West Bohemian area.
