Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This locality is represented by abandoned quarries. They expose sandstones and conglomerates of the Radnice Beds (Upper Carboniferous). Gradual transition from sandstones to conglomerates can be observed. The sandstones are classified as arkoses, conglomerates contain shale fragments and clasts of Neoproterozoic sediments. Typical basal breccia is also present. Some sandstone layers display oblique channel bedding. This locality belongs to the Central Bohemian and West Bohemian Late Palaeozoic.
