Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The old abandoned quarry exposing hypogenic magmatic body in the Neoproterozoic sediments. The magmatic body is represented by microgabbro (amphibolite), black massive rock with numerous amphibole phenocrysts. Except of amphibole also plagioklase and secondary calcite are present. Pyrit, mostly altered, also occurs. Formerly this rock was exploited for decoration purposes. Due to weathering effects, the quarrying has been stopped. The locality belongs to the Palaeozoic and regionallly to the magmatites in Bohemicum.
