Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moldanubicum, metamorphic units. Large abandoned three-floor quarry. Nebulitic migmatites, amphibolites, garnet amphibolites and erlans were exploited there together with a small body of serpentinites. In middle and lower floors fine- up to medium-grained migmatites occur. Higher, also lenses of greyish crystalline marbles are present. Garnet amphibolites contain red garnet of mm-size. This locality belongs to the Moldanubian metamorphic units and is registered as "recommended for protection.
