Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Orlice-Sněžník Crystalline. Abandoned larger shelf quarry where building material for military bunkers was exploited. This quarry exposes fine grained massive amphibolite, locally with macroscopic garnet crystals. Very complicated tectonic image with overthrusts and several associated fault and fracture systems.
