Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Orlice-Sněžník Crystalline. Natural outcrops evidencing a nappe structure of this area. Contact of amphibolites, gneisses and porphyroids. Rock association and a tectonic structure indicate overthrusting of a phylonite mantle on a orthogneiss core. Amphibolite is fine grained, massive and with growing amount of biotite passes into hornblende gneiss. Porphyroids are fine grained and massive and contain corroded phenocrysts of both plagioclase and potassium feldspar.
