Short characteristics of the site:
An abandoned quarry at Hlavno, opened in a lava flow of olivine nephelinite stratigraphically corresponding to the Nové Sedlo Formation at the Oligocene/Miocene boundary, paleomagnetic age ca. 23.5 mil. years. The rock shows a thickly columnar jointing.
