Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Two quarries exposing Cretaceous sandstones. A paleontologically important site of the Cretaceous faunas (oysters and rudist bivalves). Near this quarries the first dinosaur skeletal remains in Czech Republic as well as in Cenomanian deposits of the Central Europe were found. Some sandstone blocks from the two quarries were used as building stones for the construction of the cathedral Svatá Barbora (St. Barbara) in the Kutná Hora (Kutenberg City).
