Short characteristics of the site:
Summit part of an elevation formed of a volcanic stock, isolated by erosion from the surrounding Cretaceous sediments (Březno Formation, Coniacian). Volcanic rocks are classified as an olivine alkaline basalt with nepheline. Petrologically and geomorphologically interesting locality due to columnar jointing.
