Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
An abandoned quarry 50 m long, partly destructed by a landfill, on the S edge of Korozluky, Teplice area. A classical site of Lower Miocene freshwater limestone in the Most Basin, overlying a succession of basaltic pyroclastics. The limestones are now exposed in a thickness of 1-1.5 m. Fossil gastropods were described in detail by B. Klika in 1892. Another body of freshwater limestone lies SE of Korozluky.
