Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The reserve is situated into the deeply cut Teplá River valley in the central part of Mariánské-lázně matabasite Complex. The walls of the valley are generally very steep with numerous rock exposures and with a variaty of geomorphological phenomena inluding small pseudocarstic caverns developed in the fratures The dominant rock is represented by garnet amphibolite (locally migmatitised) with abundant relics of eclogites in warios stages of retrogression (amphibolization). Kyanite is locally also abundant. Towards SW increasa numbur of orthogneiis intercalited with amphibolite.
