Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Old quarry and surrounding outcrops of the Králův Dvůr Formation consisting of claystones. This formation is tectonically separated from the overlying sandstones of the Kosov Formation. Between the Ordovician and Silurian there occurs intrusive basalt of the Upper Wenlockian age.
