Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
This quarry exposes lower parts of the Motol Formation. Within a sequence of black graptolitic shales the sill of the essexite basalt occurs. Adjacent shales are contactly metamorphosed. Occurrence of interesting phenomena, so called false mud cracks.
