Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Locality is situated ESE Rousínov city. The old pit is important paleontological locality representing bryozoa zoarium bioherm (the Lower Badenian). It is built by limestone banks with thickness about 1 m. Thin sandstone interbeds separate limestone beds. Sandy limestones change typical bryozoa limestones upwards. Loess covers limestones. Foraminifers, worms, bryozoa, molluscs, arthropods, echinoids, teleostei and rhodophytas were found in the locality.
