Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Natural outcrops, road cut and old quarries showing the Silurian/Devonian boundary interval. Banks of bioclastic limestone on the base of the Lochkov Formation. Extremely valuable example of a differential folding of platy limestones. The memorial desk commemorating Joachim Barrande is placed on the rock. One of the most frequented geological localities in the whole world.
