Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Vienna Basin, Quaternary. Shallow road cut exposing Pleistocene loess. This loess is calcareous and rich in muscovite. In lower parts it contains sand lenses with following association of heavy minerals: garnet, zircon, hornblende and staurolite. Sand is ill-sorted with quartz grains as large as 1,5 mm.
