Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Vienna Basin, Quaternary and Neogene. Sand pit, reactivated at times, exposing Late Pleistocene sand dunes. Aeolian sands are well sorted with quartz grains up to 1 mm large. Total thickness of aeolian sands is up to 400 cm. At a pit bottom also greenish and greyish massive not bedded Pannonian silty clays are exposed.
