Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Boskovice Graben, Permocarboniferous. Natural outcrops on the Svratka River bank. Several types of the Bíteš orthogneiss are overlain by sediments of the Boskovice Graben. Their contact is tectonic. The base of Permian sequence is formed by conglomerates with angular clasts, upwards better sorting and clast rounding can be seen. Clast materials consist of Bíteš orthogneisses, phyllites, limestones and quartz. Some sandstones, siltstones and clayey sandstones form interlayers in the conglomerate sequence. They are rippled and contain plant debris.
