Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The Nezdice marble quarry with adjoining ridge. The outcrops display four types of rocks belonging to the Moldanubian Varied Group. Comparatively small area shows several lithotypes, starting with a sillimanite-biotite gneiss, variably migmatitized gneiss, lamprophyre and pegmatite veins and ending with a banded crystalline limestone. Massive biotite gneiss represents the most abundant rock type in this locality.
