Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moldanubicum, metamorphic units. Abandoned quarry with rocks of the Moldanubian Monotonous Group. The rocks can be classified as metaquartzitic gneisses and erlans. In some metaquartzitic gneisses initial migmatization can be observed. In erlans dark schlieren enriched in garnet-grossular occur. This mineral shows well developed crystal faces. On fissures fibrous calcite crystals can be found.
