Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Moldanubian magmatiters, Central Bohemian Plutonioc COmplex. Abandoned quarry, important outcrop of a granodiorite. This quarry is classified as a deposit of decorative and ornamental stone. Granodiorite is of hornblende-biotite type, coarse grained and porphyric. Part of a quarry face is formed of medium grained sillimanite-biotite pearl gneiss. Vein of exploited blackish porphyric diorite porphyry occurs near quarry floor.
