Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
A flooded sand pit near the head of the Lačnovský potok Stream near Javorník, north of Svitavy. The pit exposes subarkoses of the Březno Formation (Coniacian), formerly 6 to 9 m high, with a visible bed of fossiliferous calcareous conglomerate about 1 m above the water level. Pebbles are formed by crystalline rocks and Jurassic cherts. The conglomerate contains fossil fauna including ammonites and bivalves. Bohemian Cretaceous Basin.
