Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Barrandian Basin, Moldanubian magmatites. Abandoned mine workings, 1838 metres deep shaft after uranium exploitation, in 1975 record holder, deepest mine shaft in the whole Europe. Upper 700 m exposed granites of the Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex, deeper it reached contactly metamorphosed Upper Proterozoic schists, partly of flyschoid character. From 1991 it has been used as a part of a underground natural gas reservoir.
