Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Bohemian Moldanubicum, Quaternary. Sand pit exposing a bedrock covered by several metres thick series of fluvial sands up to pebbly sands (Pleistocene - Wurm age). Bedrock consists of biotite-, sillimanite-biotite and cordierite-biotite paragneiss. Small ponds on pit bottom with protected wetland fauna.
