Short characteristics of the site:
Moldanubicum, metamorphic units, Quaternary. Peat bog passing into raised peat bog. Largest peat lake in the Czech Republic, also with floating islets. Interesting protected floraand fauna. Nature Monument, part of the Šumava National Park. Peat is underlain by the Moldanubian metamorphic rocks.
