Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Třeboň and České Budějovice basins, Cretaceous and Quaternary. The Lužnice River meanders on a broad flood plain and keeps it natural dynamic development and vegetation. Upper Cretaceous sediments of the Klikov Formation are formed of conglomerates, sandstones and siltstones. During Pleistocene glacial stages system of six river terraces has developed.
