Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The headstream of the Vltava River in the southernmost Bohemia not far from the German border. It is situated in the National Park Šumava. This place is of symbolic importance, in fact the sources of the Vltava River are numerous. The educational trail is directed just to this symbolic place. It is surrounded by a peatland and bog soils. Accompanying rocks consist of magmatic and metamorphic ones of Variscan age. The locality is also classified as Nature Monument.
