Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
An active quarry SE of Stráž nad Ohří on the right bank of the Ohře River, featuring an elongated volcanic body. Its centre is formed by a conduit of coarse agglomerate tuffs with large xenoliths of weathered crystalline rocks. Rocks around the conduit are columnar-jointed with fan-like column arrangement. A very instructive site, potentially threatened by continued aggregate extraction.
