Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
An abandoned quarry near the road between Dubí and Krupka, opened in a thick dyke of granite porphyry. The weak resistance of this dyke to weathering and erosion compared to the host rhyolite is responsible for the formation of a NNW-trending valley. The rock often weathers into spherical to elliptical balls 0.5 to 1 m in diameter.
