Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Outcrops in the valley of the Prunéřovský potok Stream near Vysoká Jedle, ca. 10 km N of Kadaň. The rock is coarse-grained orthogneiss with augen structure and xenoliths of paragneiss, several tens of metres thick. It forms a steeply dipping body in the ambient paragneisses. Typical frost-riven cliffs were formed by frost weathering in the Pleistocene. Block accumulations are present at cliff bases.
