Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Krkonoše-Jizera crystalline. Abandoned large pit quarry. Dolerite dykes of aggregate thickness of 50 cm penetrate into fine-grained granodiorite. The dolerite is fine- up to medium-grained with gabbroophitic texture. It is strongly and deeply weathered, locally 10-15 m below the surface, mainly along the fracture crossing. In dark schlieren hornblende and pyroxene are accumulated. Locally tabular phenocrysts of plagioclase as large as 10-15 mm occur.
