Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Outcrops of the Upper Cretaceous calcareous, sandy and spongilitic marlstones and claystones. They are mostly covered by Quternary fluvial gravel and sand and also loessy loam. Also some humolites occur within flood plain depoisits. In this locality tectonic feature can be observed known as the Opočno flexure. Along this fracture numerous springs of mineralized ground water are present.
