Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
The Krušné hory (Erzgebirge) Mts. Crystalline. Metamorphic rocks of Proterozoic up to Early Paleozoic ages. Coarse grained biotite- muscovite "Augen" orthogneiss crops out being accompanied by metagranite. Interesting geomorphological features, as frost scarps, balancing stones and fissure caves can be found. Also traces of old silver and iron mining occur in this area.

Bohemian Massif > Saxothuringicum > Krušné hory and Smrčiny crystalline complexes
Stratigraphy:
Proterozoic
