Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
A section in Middle Turonian sediments in a roadside at Police nad Metují. Sandy limestones at the base (1.2 m thick) are followed by calcareous sandstones. Trace fossils are common, body fossils include bivalves (Inoceramus, Lima). A gentle flexure of strata is caused by the proximity of the Police Fault. Jizera Formation of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin.
