Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Approx. 300 m long and 20 m high rocky wall on the left bank of the Labe River. Type section of the Prosečné Formation, Permian, Lower Rotliegend (Autunian). Fine grained facies predominate: redbrown siltstones and mudstones with calcareous cement, with interbeds of fine grained sandstones. Ichnofossils, ripple marks, mud cracks, cross bedding are common. Sediments are mostly deposits of lacustrine origin. New species of Aedulidae fish was described here.
