Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
A quarry in operation on the Hřebínek ridge NNE of Babí. Mostly massive, locally amygdaloidic basalt andesite is exploited in the quarry. Tuffitic breccies and arenites occur in the NW part of the quarry, overlying andesite. Volcanics are overlied by coarse to bouldary conglomerates of Petrovice Member of Žacléř Formation (Upper Duckmantian - Bolsovian). These polymict psephites contain characteristic big pebbles of orthogneises and gneissose granites of Lusatian type (a facies of Křenov qneiss conglomerate).
