Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Rocky outcrops on the steep slope of the Úpa River valley below the ruine of medieval castle. Trutnov Formation (Suchovršice Member - Perm, Saxonian) and Bohuslavice Formation (Thuringian) Redbrown calcareous sandstones with pebbly admixture and layers of conglomerate grading upwards to reddish to pinkish highly carbonateous (mostly dolomitic) sandstones and subordinate conglomerates. They are overlain by Cretaceous (Cenomanian, Peruc - Korycany Formation) quartzose sandstones.
