Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Permocarboniferous, Central and Western Bohemia. Spoil dumps after coal mining during first quarter of the 20th century. Carboniferous Black coal seam of the Nýřany Beds was exploited. Spoil dumps offer great variety of Carboniferous sediments, mainly coal fragments, coaly claystones, arkoses with subarkoses, pelocarbonates and also tuffites. Some rare araucarites were also found. Fossil flora is abundant in claystones.
