Geology
Short characteristics of the site:
Carpathian Foredeep, Neogene-Paleogene. Sand and gravel pit, exposing section of Quaternary fluvial, aeolian and pedogenic sediments. Gravel layers with pebbles coming from different sources, including Moravicum terranes. Provenance of clasts was studied in detail. The sandpit is still active, the locality is registered in database of the Czech Geological Survey.
